Creative People Guide

Write for us

We welcome clear, original contributions that help readers understand a particular part of creative practice. A strong piece offers one useful idea, explains its limits and gives readers a sensible way to try or consider it.

What to pitch

Send a concise proposal for an article about prompts, materials, working methods, creative habits or revision. Name the reader's question, the main point you would make and the shape of the piece. A focused comparison or explanation is usually easier to assess than a broad survey.

What makes a good piece

Use plain language, concrete examples and a distinct point of view. Explain any specialist terms and separate personal experience from claims that apply more widely. We are not looking for guaranteed outcomes, thinly disguised product promotion or material that repeats a familiar topic without a fresh reason to revisit it.

How to send a proposal

Use the Contact page and choose the editorial question option to share your pitch. Include a short outline and relevant writing or making experience if it helps explain your approach. Please send a proposal rather than a complete unsolicited manuscript; a reply is not guaranteed.

A working belief

Make the next move visible.

Creative work is not a mysterious event. It is a series of choices you can try, inspect and adjust.
